Paintless Dent Repair
Paintless dent repair (PDR), also known as "paintless dent removal", is the art of removing door dings and small dents by gently massaging them out from the interior of a panel. After gaining access to the inside skin of the metal, gentle pressure is applied until the dent is removed. Since PDR works from behind the vehicle’s damage, no sanding, painting or body fillers are required. When repairs are completed, there should be no evidence a dent was ever there.
Limiting factors for a successful repair using PDR include the flexibility of the paint and the extent of the damage incurred. Hence, often extremely sharp dents and creases may not be repairable - at least not without a fresh coat of paint afterwards.
Specially designed tools are inserted behind the panel to gain access to the back side of a dent. The basic idea is to use the tools to apply pressure to certain areas in the dent, thus allowing the metal’s natural “memory” to regain its original position. It may sound complicated but our technicians have been specially trained to perform this task. There is no worry of exacerbation of the damage to your car.
